A few notes:

  • Each GPSS member who needs to set up his/her own page, will get a username. Please contact me if you need to have a page on the website. I will provide you with your username. Alternatively, you can go ahead and use the LOGIN link on the top right, and register yourself.
  • Each committee will have a page. Currently, we have two sample committee pages. For others please contact me, I will provide you with the directions of how to create your own page.
  • Each committee will have their own announcements, which will appear on the right hand side of of their page, similar to the HSC page.
  • All GPSS main announcement are under NEWS on the top menu. They will also appear on the left bar on the first page.
  • Currently, we have Facebook {jcomments on}comments on the Blog page. This will avoid spam and it's a cool way of meeting new people.
  • Anonymous contacts are possible through Contact Us page
  • The GPSS calendar is on the right hand side on all pages. This is synced with our main Google calendar, and should include all of our events.
  • There is a polling feature on the first page. Ideally, we should come up with a new poll weekly or biweekly. Make sure you vote for this one :)
  • The funding page is incomplete. I am hoping that we can transfer the old system on this site with the help of our almighty finance chair. Ideally, all applications should be on the new server with a new and revised format
  • The old websites (both google silte and the older one) will be preserved but hidden from the public. Specifically, I will keep the old admin website for the record, but will try to transfer the functionality to the new one soon. Once we finalize the new website all these addresses will point to it: www.gpssusc.com, www.uscgpss.com, usc.edu/gpss, gpss.usc.edu.
  • Currently Facebook provides a way to embed Facebook "pages" only not "groups"

This is the very first version of the new website, so it is still missing many features, but I am hoping that we can officially launch it next Monday.
