Committees
About us: We are a committee of graduate students interested in all areas of gender equality. We aim to raise awareness among the USC student body and engage the larger community regarding social and political issues related to women's rights and issues in academia and professionalization, as well as LGBT issues. Through social events, workshops, informal discussions, and lecture series, we hope to raise issues that we feel are effecting all of us (and not just women!). In graduate school, we need support systems aside from friends and colleagues, and so our committee recognizes the need to feel part of a community.

Contact: If you are interested in getting involved, or just want to find out more about the committee, please feel free to contact Nicky Sa-eun Schildkraut (Chair, Gender Equity Committee) at the email address gpsscge@gmail.com.
Meetings: We meet once a month on Thursday afternoon, from 4:30-5:30, in the GPSS seminar room 224 in the Ronald Tutor Center. It's down the hall, last door on the right, from the Lemonade restaurant. During the meetings, we will be planning our events for fall and spring semesters 2011-2012. Come with ideas and hearty appetites (food will be served)!
