On behalf of the entire Executive Board and Leadership Team of the Graduate Student Government (GSG), I want to welcome you and say that we are very excited to have you here! We are looking forward to a great year.
It is with much regret that I must inform you that the discounted TAP Program for USC graduate students has been put on hold. On July 25, 2011 I was informed by LA Metro that they were raising the price from $8.63 to $17.36 (more than double the price) per student per semester based on a re-interpretation of our April 2010 survey results. We had been working on financial projections with the $8.63 price since October 2010 so you can imagine how difficult this information was to receive. Despite our best efforts to resolve the issue by working with the USC Office of Government and Civic Engagement, who helped us write a letter to Metro's CEO Arthur T. Leahy, the best offer we were able to get from them was Fall semester at the original price and Spring semester at the new price.
